Employee Benefits Consultant

The Employee Benefits Consultant’s is responsible for:

Sales:

  • Prospect for new clients via multiple channels, meet with prospective clients and build relationships that result in acquiring 3-5 new client groups per month
  • Participate in key industry associations, leads group and other networking functions in order to develop and enhance your prospect pipeline
  • Effectively develop and manage prospects through the sales cycle by utilizing salesforce.com and other sales tools available to sales team members
  • Design, communicate and implement new client employee benefit programs that reflect the level of service and professionalism expected by ProCo
  • Partner with sales consultants in other departments to both team sell and cross sell other insurance products offered by ProCo and its partners
  • Participate in insurance company and vendor meetings that enable you to both understand and stay abreast of developments in health, dental, life, disability, vision, and health savings account insurance products, wellness services and other products

Client Service:

  • Partner with the service team to ensure the day to day client needs are serviced in a timely, effective and efficient manner
  • Engage clients throughout the year in order to respond to their changing needs, offer additional products and develop a trusted advisor relationship
  • Consult with clients prior to renewal in order to ensure we offer employee benefit program options that meet or exceed their needs
  • Partner with the service team to market renewing employee benefit programs and put together renewal proposals that offer products and services that are consistent with needs of the clients
  • Ensure clients receive communication regarding developments in employee benefits that will enable them to stay abreast of industry trends and changes.

Qualifications:

  • Determination to achieve  significant financial success
  • Broad experience in human resources or financial services
  • Firm commitment  to creating and executing a plan to build a robust prospect pipeline through networking and prospecting efforts
  • 3-5 years demonstrated success in business development or other consultative sales roles
  • Knowledge of employee benefits insurance products, payroll and human resource needs
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excels in a team environment where team-selling and cross-selling successes are the norm
  • Ability to develop and execute on proven business development strategies
  • Current CA life/health insurance license or ability to obtain immediately
Commercial Insurance Sales

The Commercial Insurance Sales Executive is Responsible for:

  • Network, prospect and make cold calls in order to produce new business and grow your book of business
  • Effectively utilize the pipeline management and other sales tools to maximize the effectiveness of your prospecting efforts
  • Partner with other producers to team sell, where doing so increases the likelihood of a closing a sale
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments in order to effectively cross-sell new and existing clients
  • Actively pursue account rounding opportunities and referrals from existing accounts
  • Act as business partner for clients and provide risk management and strategic planning advice
  • Maintain proactive client relationships in order to renew existing business
  • Initiate, monitor, and actively participate in the renewal process to assure the best results for clients Present renewals to clients
  • Partner with Account Managers to obtain quotes as needed for specific contracts, i.e. builders risk, railroad protective, OCP’s, etc.
  • Remain current on industry trends, market changes and risk alternatives;
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with insurance carriers and wholesalers

Personal Insurance Sales

The Personal Insurance Sales Executive is Responsible for:

  • Develop and cultivate new business referral relationships with financial planners, accountants, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, etc.
  • Participate in associations and lead groups to generate new business leads
    Make direct sales calls to prospective personal insurance clients
  • Follow up on referral opportunities
  • Partner with Commercial Insurance, Life Insurance and Group Benefits sales staff to take advantage of cross sell opportunities
  • Partner with Sales Associte to obtain quotes and put together proposals, close sales and bind coverage on new business opportunities
  • Ensure smooth transition of new accounts to the service Team

Qualifications:

  • Two-Year or Four-year college degree and 2-3 years of insurance sales experience
  • Strong sales aptitude
  • Disciplined, well organized, and self motivated person
  • Willingness to make prospecting calls and network to develop new business
  • Strong computer skills including, MS Word, Excel and Access
  • Skill in reading documents written in standard English text including contracts, proposals, and procedure manuals
  • Skill in writing grammatically correct business correspondence such as letters, e-mails, memoranda
  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with managers and support staff members

Employee Benefits Account Manager

The Employee Benefits Account Manager is responsible for:

  • Communication of benefit designs
  • Claims assistance
  • Evaluation of existing programs to our group clients.
  • Working alongside HR Managers, CFO’s and executives of our existing clients to ensure proper understanding of their employee benefits.
  • Serve as a liaison between the client, sales team, and vendors/carriers.
  • Maintain current knowledge of health, dental, life, disability, vision, Section 125 and consumer driven healthcare products including HSA and HRA etc.
  • The Account Manager reports to the Director of Account Management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in human resources as a Benefits Specialist or with an employee benefits brokerage firm as an Account Manager.
  • Organization, excellent customer service, and proactive sense of responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in an extremely motivated, close team environment
  • Four-year college degree
  • SPHR or PHR designations a plus
Personal Insurance Account Manager

The Personal Insurance Account Manager is Responsible for:

  • Communicating verbally and in writing with clients, prospects, insurance company personnel and co-workers
  • Creating and maintaining client files in agency management system (AMS 360)
  • Processing policies, renewals, endorsements, etc. for clients
  • Providing evidence of coverage
  • Invoicing and answering billing questions from clients and carriers
  • Generating new business sales and cross selling into existing relationships
  • Entering application information for new business, changes, cancellations, etc. into AMS 360 and carrier websites
  • Managing client expiration lists
  • Maintaining a suspense system to be sure that policies, endorsements, and other actions are accomplished in a timely manner
  • Keeping abreast of industry news

Qualifications:

  • Organization, excellent customer service, and proactive sense of responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Commercial Insurance Account Manager

The Commercial Insurance Account Manager is Responsible for:

  • Leading the day to day client service delivery efforts on specified accounts, including: counseling clients on interim insurance coverage changes and claim reporting, fielding phone calls and creating email and other client correspondence, completing policy changes and ensuring they are invoiced appropriately
  • Reviewing contracts and agreements as requested by clients in coordination with Producer/Account Executive and make coverage recommendations that ensure compliance with specific contracts or agreements
  • Resolving carrier and client service issues and assisting clients with claim reporting and resolution
  • Consulting with clients and Account Executives to develop appropriate new account coverage marketing and placement strategies utilizing internal and external resources as necessary.
  • Leading and executing new the new business marketing and placements processes
  • Managing the execution of all aspects of the client account renewal rrocess
  • Reviewing and analyzing policies upon receipt from carriers, coordinate with Assistant Account Manager and carriers for processing of any necessary changes or corrections and ensure policies are delivered to clients with an appropriate policy summary
  • Ensuring timely issuance and accuracy of billing, premium allocations, premium finance agreements, etc.
  • Ensuring file documentation is consistent with the organization’s standard policies and practices
  • Reviewing all account receivable statements and partner with Account Executive in resolving collection items and/or accounting system errors.
  • Developing and maintain effective working relationships with carrier underwriters, marketing reps and wholesalers in order to ensure effective issue resolution and optimal coverage terms and pricing for specified clients
  • Keeping abreast of industry information, new product offerings, coverage changes and technology changes in an effort to continuously improve your knowledge
  • Executing all other tasks assigned on a regular or periodic basis

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, college education preferred.
  • Property/Casualty License required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive insurance experience (brokerage experience preferred).  Insurance designations a plus.
  • Knowledge of insurance products and coverage.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
  • Ability to develop meaningful insurance carrier relationships, which in turn will translate into high quality insurance broking results.
  • Knowledge of rating and auditing procedures, coverage and industry operations to effectively manage and maintain business.
